Introduction
You know, I give Medium writers a lot of shit for using tall ass photos for the face of the article. No one wants to scroll down longer than they have to to start reading. I had to break my own rules for this one because the photograph I took was the best representation of what follows.
Take a good look at this photo; note the juxtaposition of this poor, cute child’s head with the bomb sign behind it. Understand that I didn’t ask these people to do this; I didn’t place them in position. Identifying unintentional juxtaposing, to me, is a core skill for a street photographer. If a picture is worth a thousand words, then this skill is akin to being an interpreter of visual language. A visual linguist, if you will.
As your resident visual linguist, I present to you our bombs — bombs from the USA — hitting children on the head.
