Open invitation: early adopters of an Augmented Reality world
Every once in a while, a new product comes to life, which invites us to see the world differently. And to act differently.
To most, it always seems crazy in the beginning.
Because every new idea is adopted progressively, starting with the innovators and the early adopters. This is as true for new technologies as for political movements (see a great real life example here).
And it is also true for Artelot, the mobile app we created to narrate the streets of the world with Augmented Reality. This is our thesis:
In the near future, everybody will use AR to explore the history of the planet. And to make the everyday commuting in great cities feel magic (and purposeful).

Or you can directly download the app and explore stories in one of the available cities (see below for more).
If, on the contrary, you believe this is too farfetched, too early, or too crazy, this product and blog are not for you. Not yet, at least. You can always come back when you feel ready or share your ideas anyway.
For now, we are searching for our first 1000 true fans 🦸🏾♀️🦸🏻♂️, the evangelists, the pioneers. The first Augmented Reality community with a purpose: to build an exciting version of the metaverse that will change the world for the better 🔝.
What stories you can expect
Let’s start with the obvious. You will read stories about the history of the city and each specific location.
But not only!
We try to put as much added value in our stories as possible! We aim to create a collection of stories for each city that:
- Narrate the most important historical events 🏛
- Introduce great people who lived there 👩🎨👨🔬
- Comment on history and derive lessons that are relevant to our modern reality 📚
- Communicate great ideas 💡
- Surprise you! We believe that AR should make the world magic. We, therefore, add imagination and unpredictability in our storytelling. A wizard, an alien, or a ghost — you never know what is hiding in the next corner. 🧙♂️👻👽
How does Artelot exactly work
As discussed above, Artelot is a mobile app that allows you to explore the streets around you with Augmented Reality in 5 simple steps:
1- Download the app.
2- Walk to a location marked with a red circle on the map
3- Press the red “explore” button
4- Read the story
5- See the character(s) with AR and capture unique photos

You can currently find stories in:

- Venice 🇮🇹
- Thessaloniki 🇬🇷
But more cities are coming 🔜 (London 🇬🇧, New York 🇺🇸, San Francisco 🇺🇸).
