Polish story — Translated handsomely by Anna Grunduls

Sahlawayhi, by Ahmed Khorsheed, is a series of graded stories for adults of Arabic learners.

Each story of the entire series has a very unique and well structured content. The author has been true to the limited vocabulary that he sets for each story, yet he succeeded in leveraging and increasing these lists gradually and logically as the reader progresses to the following story.

The picture shows the FIRST page of the FIRST story in the FIRST edition of the FIRST book.

To most observers, it is only a plain text! But we think it has a superbly deep meaning that won’t be told without some visual and audio effects.

If you cannot read in Arabic then please keep reading, you will figure out the content of this story anyway.

This is how the first five taps of the same story look on the LMS:

1: Intro…

This picture might tell a bit to any one who takes a glimpse of it.

Unfortunately, it doesn't tell anyone’s name or what gets him/her to be on this boat.

What if you had the chance to know more about one of them?

This is a story of one of the illegal immigrants, as they are tend to be labeled.

Luckily, Mansoor had a happy ending.

Make the lives of the rest on this boat a bit easier… Donate.

2: Meet the characters…

Mansoor, Mansoor’s wife and his children

3: Activity: Track Mansoor’s migration road…

Visit the educational tool by NatGeo called the interactive map on this link

Locate the following of the text:

The first country appears in the story.

The second country appears in the story… page 12.

Other countries mentioned in the stories… page 13.

The migration road. Calculate how many klm/ miles have been traveled by the main character.

Save your answers on the map by pressing “save” on the right coroner at the top of the page and keep it handy as you will use it throughout the upcoming lessons.

Got it? If not, than here is the summery in bullet points:

4: Summery…

5: In class/Self-paced activity: Play the sound effect…

Play this audio while reading the pages 12–14… Feel how Mansoor feels

We believe that every language book should be visualized. The language itself should be visualized. It should be tangible. It should be felt. It should be brought back to life.

And so we work on bringing every story of this book, every story of this series and every story of each book that we teach back to life on the LMS and during the class so you feel and live it… the way we do.
