I have been a vegan for going on forty years now. Yes, I cheat sometimes but not very often.

As a rather long aside, the term “vegan” irks me a little. I like the word vegetarian much better for it says it all right there. I think of a vegetable (or fruit or grain) as something that grows in and is harvested from the earth and the earth alone, hence, yes, Earth Alone, the name of my…
