Imagine, you walk out the coffee shop, slow motion shot, the outfit is on point, brush your hair to the side with your hand, model face on — you glance around you put your bag on your shoulder and step into your car. And nobody can lie, you look drop-dead gorgeous.
Covid-19 May have taken a toll on your wallet and Black Friday Sales may have been your only chance to revive your expensive tastes but BAM, just like that stocks are sold out and your last hope is gone… Or is it, what if I said there was another way to shop from the cheapest store and look like you came out of a New York Fashion Week Show. Even better, shop sustainable, good quality, reliable clothing while you’re at it! Here are some tips to show you how!

Monochromatic Looks

Using one colour for the outfit creates a more put together, aesthetically pleasing look. I recommend neutral tones like black, brown, white or beige for an even more posh put together effect but any on colour gives off the same expensive look . It instantly creates a more polished look compared to a mismatched outfit that has no centre or cohesive aspects that make it the meaning of eye candy. Here is an example outfit of a colour matching outfit.

Now imagine walking out of the coffee shop like this.

Use Basic Outfits With Statement Items

Sometimes you don’t need to go all out with pairing that Gucci skirt with that designer shirt, Balenciaga shoes and Louis handbag not forgetting the 24 carat gold necklace. All you need it one or two (that may be pushing it) but if the two are matching… Perfect. You could have the most casual outfit but the statement item is what brings it all together and labels the out fit as “boujee”. Even better, for the majority of your outfit stay away from Logo’s, having too many logos on your outfit or worse logos for different brands can totally ruin a look. So stick to basics to avoid looking like a wannabe. For example, Jeans and a white t-shirt is seen as the meaning of a basic outfit, but if we were to pair that with some statement shoes or sunglasses, here’s what it would look like.

Just look at those shoes, goodbye to basic and hello to classic. Statement pieces immediately elevate a look and stop you from being “girl/guy next door”

Opposite Fit

As much as I love a full baggy outfit moment the third key to a cohesive look that says “boujee” or “rich” all over is pairing a form fitting top, with baggy bottoms or vice versa. Although the first pairing creates that hourglass figure that many of us desire or that has become a standard of beauty. For example the classic crop top and baggy jeans has been worn by many fashion figures multiple times such as Gigi Hadid, Kylie Jenner and every girl on Pinterest. And for visible reasons, it gives off the most effortless but at the same time expensive vibes to anyone who looks in your direction. This combination radiates such a professional look it can even be replicated in office fashion. e.g:

Baggy Jeans synched in at the waist with a form fitting top and a trench coat.

Shop Quality Clothing

Finally one of the most important tips here although this probably rules out the majority of clothing stores you may shop from, for fast fashion retail stores like, Boohoo, Dollskill and Shein don’t have the best quality clothing that will last you a while. In addition to this it looks cheap as well. Shopping quality clothing in the long run saves money as you don’t have to keep buying new items every time they fall apart. The items also look good. So I recommend investing in some quality items. You could go two ways with this. Shop basic items like jeans from cheap stores and buy a more expensive bag to somewhat elevate the look. Or vice versa, shop for really cheap accessories but a quality outfit. Also use coupon code site such as honey to save some money while shopping for those quality items.
