Why You Should Print Your Photos
It’s such a benefit
It’s a great feeling, unless of course it turns out looking awful. What’s great for half a second on Instagram doesn’t necessarily cut it for half a year on your wall. But that’s where printing is so good. It helps the curation of your photos. You learn what you can do with your pictures and where you can put them! More of that in another Medium Story.
Photo prints are great to dig out and look back over. That’s why Facebook has its ‘Memories’ posts even if they are only digital.
I have always enjoyed looking back over my photographs. Years ago they had to be prints. Albums were popular because you had to select the best prints to include, they protected the prints and they were convenient.
During the lockdown period earlier last year I dug out some more of my old ones from the box in the loft. A mixture of print and slides, they go back to the 1950’s as there are also some photos from my parents’ collection.
Sadly I don’t have any of my father’s photos from the 1930’s.
