Eva Herzigová: Pioneering the Future of Fashion as the First MetaHuman Supermodel
As the digital age continues to evolve, fashion is not far behind, with supermodel Eva Herzigová leading the charge. Herzigová is the world’s first supermodel to become a MetaHuman, a digital human avatar, ready to star in the virtual and mixed reality realms. This evolution is a testament to the constant exploration of brands into the future of digital fashion.
Herzigová’s MetaHuman was created through a collaboration between leading talent agency, Unsigned, and virtual production studio, Dimension. They crafted a lifelike, real-time 3D digital human that not only resembles Herzigová but also captures her signature style and walk. The process involved scanning Herzigová using a 70-camera rig and utilising the data to recreate her as a 3D MetaHuman.
Her digital avatar can be re-dressed, posed, and lit, her hair and make-up restyled, and her body and facial expressions animated using motion capture or traditional animation. This flexibility and adaptability make the MetaHuman avatar a powerful tool, finding a multitude of real-time applications in virtual fashion shows, 3D browser-based experiences, modelling digital wearables, live video streams, online games, live broadcasts, as well as 2D videos and stills.
