Quotes, proverbs and phrases are capable of changing our lives forever. Some influence our soul’s deepest core and transmute us into our better selves.

I have noticed that sometimes a 3-word quote is all that we need. I’ve listed my favourite sets of 3 that are carved deep in my heart and helped me grow. I hope these quotes guide you the way they have guided me. I believe they can positively influence your lifestyle and decisions.

Note: These are listed in no particular order.

1. Victory Loves Preparation

This quote from Jason Statham’s “The Mechanic” is the most factual one on this list.
If we aim to win, we must prepare. The time of our death is uncertain but the journey can be planned. To succeed, we must understand what we want to be proud of on our deathbeds, “an achieved lifelong goal”. To do that we need to plan. A premeditated life is what leads to victory.

2. Discipline Creates Lifestyle

I read this quote in Hal Elrod’s book “The Miracle Morning”. The idea of having a great lifestyle is something we all cherish. We all want that. Unfortunately, most of us love hitting the snooze button every morning for sleeping a few extra minutes or even substituting oatmeal with a slice of pizza. Without self-discipline, we simply cannot lead a better life.

The day we dominate our desires and build a better lifestyle by sacrificing the likable yet harmful habits will be the day we will actually start living.

3. Everything is Learnable

In his legendary book “Eat That Frog”, Brian Tracy explains how everything is learnable and that we must never stop learning. Every skill that we need can be learned. If others can do it, we can do it as well. Also, constantly upgrading our key skills is essential for personal development and achieving better results.

4. Procrastination Steals Time

Life is short and we often ignore this fact. Robin Sharma in his bestselling book “The Leader Who Had No Title” pointed out-

“the average life has only 960 months or 29000 days.”

Therefore, we must put our ridiculously limited time to good use. We must be more careful while spending our time just like we are careful while spending money (assuming you are not a spendthrift). Afterall, time is money. As soon as you realise you are procrastinating, just stop and refocus.

5. Happiness Requires Struggle

These words by author Mark Manson are absolute truth. The struggle is an essential hurdle we must cross in order to succeed. Achievements without struggle will not make you happy.

It’s important to work hard on something which is worth the pain and struggle for achieving the ultimate goal — Happiness.

6. Clarity Precedes Success

It’s a quote from the book “The Greatness Guide” by author Robin Sharma. Almost every success guru will tell you to have clarity of objectives. Striving for success without clearly defining our goals it’s more like a shot in the dark.

7. Fear Kills Growth

This is one of the many great quotes by Gary Vaynerchuk. Fear should not be the reason for not trying. Regret is worse than the fear of failure. If we fear to fail, we will never achieve our goals. In Fact, it will hinder our overall growth. Use fear to your advantage. Use fear to identify possible failures and then work more intelligently to succeed.

8. You Are Enough

What if you think differently? What if nobody believes in your ideas? What if nobody is ready to work with you? It’s okay. You are enough. You can do it alone. If you cannot find help, don’t give up. You just have to work a little bit harder. And if it’s worth it, you will not hesitate.

9. Destiny is Mine

Naruto Uzumaki is one of my all-time favourite anime characters and he always said — “If you don’t like your destiny, don’t accept it. Instead, have the courage to change it the way you want it to be.”
Naruto is right. We must always chase what we want to achieve regardless of the situation. We’ll get it sooner than we know.

10. Eliminate The Non-essential

Leo Babauta the founder of zenhabits.net in his remarkable book “The Power of Less” delineates why limiting yourself to the essential is the formula for being more productive. We cannot accomplish everything. Instead of trying to do everything we must focus on the most important things in our lives. We must learn the art of prioritizing. We must understand which goal is more important and give our 100% to achieve it. This may sound uncanny but it works.

Quotations are often read and forgotten. No matter whatever problem you are going through, I believe there will be some quote somewhere with solutions to your problems. They can be a great help if you let them.
