“No one is born with self-confidence. Self-confidence is learned and earned with experience.” — Denis Waitley

Everybody loves the feeling of self-confidence. Self-confidence is the feeling you have when you know you will be successful. It’s the feeling when you go into a situation knowing you will handle it with excellent performance.

Tremendous self-confidence brings you into a state in which everything works as you want it to work or even better. Good luck comes from everywhere into your life — subjectively.

Unfortunately, most people don’t want to work for their confidence although they deeply know, self-confidence is created by getting things done consistently.

Self-confidence is a result of taking action and personal growth — not the other way around.

Self-confidence is comparable with a flow-state. You continue doing your thing while being successful anyway.

I push so hard on self-confidence because that is the main variable which changed within my last two years. It is not the place I live, it is not the money in my bank account, and it is not how I make my living.

This change in self-confidence is the reason why I am happy, why I always smile and why it doesn’t matter what everybody else thinks about my actions.

I want this for everybody else because it is the best thing ever. When everything seems to go down, if your self-confidence is astonishing, you will punch yourself out of every difficult situation.

“Faith is put to the test when the situation is most difficult.” — Mahatma Gandhi

Do something with consistency what most people don’t do

“Comparison is an act of violence against the self.” — Iyanla Vanzant

You are unique, no matter what. But most people don’t act in the interest of their uniqueness.

Especially in the beginning, it is so tremendously important to not play within the lines. If you play within the lines of society, you tend to be one out of a million. But in fact, you are not.

I started with speed reading. I knew from the very beginning this is something that most people don’t even think about or don’t even know.

I am completely aware this is a kind of comparison but it was the first step into a direction determined by myself and not by the majority of people in my environment.

So I started the journey of figuring myself out and going into the directions I believe are the right ones. I started reading books more than ever before. I intended to learn from the greatest persons I know to find my way to personal fulfillment.

The feeling of working for yourself and on yourself is what builds the most self-confidence. You know you make progress. You know, you are getting better every day. You know, you are creating yourself and thus your future.

Start your day with success

“ Let your first hour set the theme of success and positive action that is certain to echo through your entire day. Today will never happen again.” — Og Mandino

Until about four months ago I got up at 8 am jumping out of bed to wash, to brush my teeth, to eat fast, and to leave home afterward. Except for the time I used to follow a nutrition plan, I rarely prepared breakfast on the day before.

Sounds like a little bit stressful? It was. I had no choice whether getting up or not. I had to hurry up to catch the train at 9 am (I am a student, okay?!). Everything determined by outer circumstances.

Four months later, I get up at 5:45 am, I make my bed, I read about half an hour every morning, I do sports or at least some movement, I have a healthy breakfast, and I work on recent personal projects.

This transformation started with the article How To Get Life-Changing Clarity Within 90 Minutes Of Waking Up by Benjamin P. Hardy and writing the theoretical part of my master thesis. I started being used to writing every morning for about 30–45 hours. The result was, I finished writing the theoretical part about 2–3 weeks later seemingly without any effort and all this, five months in advance to the date for handing in the thesis finally.

Furthermore, my days were great because I knew I already made more progress than on some other days — really annoying days. This achievement before leaving home was a huge lift for my mood which alone was worth it — and still is.

Starting your day with success will cultivate success through your day and seemingly attract further success.

Success, progress and a good mood logically result in a good portion of self-confidence. Everything from your first result is an extra. People love extras, and so do I.

“Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out.” — Robert Collier

Write down your Aha’s

It’s very important to write things down instantly, or you can lose the way you were thinking out a line. I have a rule that if I wake up at 3 in the morning and think of something, I write it down. I can’t wait until morning — it’ll be gone. — Mary Oliver

I cannot count the number of having potential good thoughts I forget the same day or night. Especially dreams are interesting to know, and even if they are exceptional, I always disremember them. How often do I sit at breakfast and tell my girlfriend, I had a cool dream but I only know that it was cool — nothing more.

For about four months I go nowhere without my notebook. Even while sleeping I have a piece of paper and a pen next to my bed, just in case that I dream about something which is helpful.

Your thoughts are strong. Write them down to manifest if you want them to and write them down especially when you have an insight. Too many thoughts will never see the daylight. Imagine nobody would lose his ideas in this world. Mind-blowing ideas are blown away every day. Don’t let it be one of yours.

By writing down your potentially valuable ideas, you will never have the feeling of having the solution and being not able to call them back. You’ll keep the good things within your mind which creates what — confidence.

“There are no wrong notes.” — Miles Davis

Create your environment with purpose

“Our environment is a mirror of our attitude and expectations.” — Earl Nightingale

Even the smallest changes in our environment can produce enormous effects in the long term. If your environment represents your attitude then you are able to change your attitude in whatever you want by modifying your environment.

“I am not that type of person.” I don’t like this phrase. You can be that type of person if you want to. Better say “I am not that type of person yet.” The strength lies within your hands.

Start creating your environment with purpose. Create it wisely because it determines who you become.

The purpose can be anything. Maybe you want to be healthier or fitter. Ban unhealthy elements from your environment and replace them with components which foster your goal. Fruits instead of candies. Pull up bar instead of an armchair. Books instead of a TV.

Whatever you like, you are in control and if you are in control you start having the confidence to achieve it because your whole environment speaks of confidence.

“One important key to success is self-confidence. An important key to self-confidence is preparation.” — Arthur Ashe

Cultivate positivity

“Your positive action combined with positive thinking results in success. — Shiv Khera

Positivity is not a property. Positivity is a skill. You have to establish positivity if you want it in your life.

Start your day with positivity. End your day with positivity.

Positivity is a part of your success in the morning. But cultivate it and train it over the day to make being positive a habit. I don’t talk about being positive no matter what. I only suggest choosing positivity if you have the choice. Everything has something positive in it, at least for the long term. It is your job to extract and focus on this.

I cannot explain how this attitude changed my life. Everything seems to be supporting myself. In every inch of an occasion, I extract the lesson. I see the progress.

If you are conscious of the positive matter in everything, you always make progress which builds strength and prepares you for the upcoming challenges.

“Nothing will slow your progress like a negative mindset, stay positive.” — Unknown

Question the status quo

“Status quo, you know, is Latin for ‘the mess we’re in’.” — Ronald Reagan

In my experience, questioning the status quo is the first step towards finding your uniqueness. You begin to recognize opportunities, the vast majority of people doesn’t see. For them, it even seems impossible.

The first time I did it, was through my speed reading course. Before I attended this course, I believed the reading speed is a property everybody has. But I questioned the general opinion and learned it. This step was the first step into a whole new direction. I don’t want to imagine where I would be if I had rejected this opportunity.

By asking the right questions, there will be the point where you realize your options are seemingly endless. If something doesn’t work out, you will easily find another way to reach your destination.

The best way to get a better answer is to start asking a better question.” — Tony Robbins

New learnings daily

“The most important attitude to found is the desire to go on learning.” — John Dewey

Learning daily is growing daily. Personal growth is the ultimate way to create self-confidence. There is not a single possibility to be self-confident without growing in advance. A non-growing person always has insecurity within.

Committing to lifelong learning was the best decision I have ever made. I believe I can achieve whatever I want to, and I believe everybody else can as well.

You won’t find a single human being who regrets learning daily. Period.
