Applying the teaching of Shia Nike LaBeouf: “just do it.”
Stop overthinking it. Just do it. Now.
This has to be the shortest and most powerful piece of advice in History. I don’t own a single Nike product, but I’ve been exposed to their mantra. And it deeply resonates with me. As it should with you.
I always wanted to write. Even though “an image is worth a thousand words.” I still believe writing is by far one of the richest forms of Human expression. And just like scribbles and orators were granted high social status, it still holds true today that the best communicators are among the most successful. Think of the iconic presentation of the iPhone by Jobs, or the unforgettable “I have a dream” speech by Luther King.
So I want to write but haven’t written a single piece of article just yet.
What about you? What dreams are you holding off? Within your wishlist to the universe, what is it you’re not doing, yet?
Let’s just do it now.
Don’t let fears, doubts, or anyone stop you (not even yourself.)
You’re wasting too much time frozen by the fear of failure, fear of being judged, overthinking stuff, over-rationalising everything. And the list goes on.
All it takes is one first step forward. No matter how small.
You’re the tallest wall to climb. The longest bridge to cross.
Because of your mental show-stoppers, you fail to reach your full potential, you “let dreams be dreams,” and you betray your dreams every day.
You can overcome all this by finding out your true self, and tune into the positive, hopeful voice in your head that’s pointing towards the light. Follow the light.
Just do it. Whatever “it” is, just start something.
This article is me doing “it.” For years I wanted to write and share some thoughts and stories with the world. Then I said to myself things like “you don’t even know how to write…who cares what you have to say…there is already so many people writing anyways…just let it go…etc.”
Despite all these doubts, my deeper desires took over, making me draft dozens of books scripts and stories that I truly believe can shed some light on a few world issues. Or just inspire even one person to do something great.
And this very imperfect first article is that ice-breaking moment I needed so much.
No. It’s never too late.
It looks like many great people in History made their break through quite late in their lifetime. Think about Julia Child who didn’t write her very first book before she was 50. Or the renowned Colonel Harland Sanders who franchised KFC at 62. History is full of those late bloomers, which are proofs that it’s never too late.
But still, that’s no excuse for you. Don’t get complaisant and wait forever either. Just start something.
“The whole is greater than the sum of its parts.” — Aristotle
The best way to fuel your motivation is to take a moment and picture the final output. By immersing yourself into that vivid vision of where and who you want to be, you can trigger your inner genius, and pave your way towards that full potential. Each step takes you closer to that greater you.
You are my witness.
I’m using this very first article as a therapy. I’m breaking my pattern of doubts and fears that were holding me back for so long. Now I’m free from those imaginary chains, and ready to unleash the creative storm that’s been growing inside my soul.
🐣 Thanks for witnessing my egg hatching 🐣
