Dedication and Its Importance

I bring up dedication, because this weekend I dedicated my daughter to Christ.

I didn’t do this because I’m overly religious, or afraid of what happens if she’s not dedicated. Me and my wife did this because this little girl is something special, and Christ is the perfect example of a man who understood God was his father, protector and guidance.

Now there are a ton of people who don’t believe in Christ, his accomplishments and healing abilities… and that’s fine — I’m not here to judge! But there’s no denying he existed, and was a healer. But this is about dedication.

What dedicating my daughter meant to me was:

  1. I am now making myself accountable to protect my daughter through Gods way.
  2. I am now going to bring her up in a positive manner, and speak no evil or lack in our household. Don’t get me wrong, we teach our other 2 kids the same thing, but being up on that stage and speaking Christ into my child’s body — was a magnificent feeling!

My other 2 are baptized, but as me and my wife got older… we realize there is a difference between the 2. In my opinion — Baptizing is sort of conforming into the old ways… as opposed to dedicating, which is more personal and closer to God. That’s just my experience over the weekend that I wanted to share with your beautiful eyes.

But dedication, also applies to anything that you do in life, too!

You have to be dedicated to yourself, and your craft!

Dedication is the hardest thing for people to do. It goes right along side discipline.

When you have a burning obsession or desire in your heart… you become dedicated to bettering yourself, your surroundings, your circumstances and your overall life.

Dedicating my daughter was a commitment to myself, also. (Kind of in the subconscious) to better myself, so that I could raise her to be a good person.

From the ages of 1 to 7; you’re in charge of molding your child’s minds. They are more susceptible to take on character, and actions of the parents, in those early ages! So it’s important to be around as much as possible and be the best influence you can possibly be!

Dedicate your Time to Yourself

A lot of us are so dedicated to our jobs and family — that we don’t dedicate time to ourselves or health. I am guilty of this, and I’ll be the first to admit it.

I am dedicated to being the best writer, real estate investor and provider that I sometimes get too caught up to realize that I neglect my family. Shame on me!

But as long as you are aware of what you’re doing, you can change it… It’s when you’re being destructive and unaware — that you have a serious problem… or don’t fix it over time.

There’s nothing wrong with dedication. In fact, dedication shows how bad you want something, and you’re willing to do whatever it is to achieve it.

I personal dedicated my daughter because I was making a dedication to myself to show her the right way to do things, that path of spirituality, belief, faith and God.

I don’t think here’s any higher dedications than making sure your kids know the power that God gives us to become the best version of ourselves possible.
