We all face various pressures that can make it hard to focus on delighting our customers.

Think about the challenges you face in your own daily work.

It might be angry customers, difficult coworkers, a tough boss, bad policies, defective products, or even personal problems.

We’re not supposed to let these things get to us, but it’s not easy.

We’re human.

We definitely encounter many difficult times when we were being customers. There might be a tough casher who don’t want give back bunch of coins and rude to customers with managers yelling them to be faster; there might be a sales person always chasing you when you just want to look around by yourself undisturbed. What might be the reasons behind these facts. Is that only because these staff are just rude?

The answer is definitely: No.

It is because the company didn’t have a clear customer service vision to lead employees to a right direction.

Here are some techniques that I would like to share about how can you create a good customer service vision.

  1. Why does my organization exists? Each company normally has a mission statement to explain this. If not, think about how your organization as a whole to serve customers? For example, sports company can help people enjoy outdoors.
  2. How do you contribute to your organization’s success? For example, the salesperson for sports company help customers to get right and comfortable shoes so that customers can better enjoy outdoors.
  3. How do you want your customers to feel about your service?

Now you have all the questions you need to create a one sentence customer service vision. For example, salesperson might say I am here to help customers to get right and comfortable shoes so that customers can better enjoy outdoors.

So when people go to store, they are not going there for shoes, they going to stores for get the right shoes to enjoy their adventure.

Create your customer vision and this will bring more positive impression to your audience.

Keep going, don’t settle!
