The art of combining small acts of being random and the desire to put a smile on a stranger’s face is a full-time hobby with me.

It only requires two essential qualities we should all exercise more, imagination and positivity.

I’ve written about one of my methods for putting a smile on a barista here.

My latest method for having some fun, and observing people’s smiles is simple.

I discreetly leave old photos of places I’ve visited on the seats of the subway, streetcar or bus that I’m riding on.

The pictures never have anyone in the photo.

There’s nothing in the frame to say who took the picture.

It’s always of the trips I’ve taken, and it can only be a scenic image.

The aquamarine waters of The Bahamas.

The rolling hills of Switzerland.

The absurdly colourful fruit markets in Colombia.

Most people have way too many pictures…
