There are certain beliefs we can have in life that will lead us to a truly amazing life — a life where we can literally end bad days once and for all.

In particular, there are 3 beliefs that I use on a daily basis to keep myself positive and uplifted throughout what may seem like adversity, and I wish to share them with you. They are as follows:

- Belief 1 — The only thing that can go wrong in this world is your own personal attitude, and you can always make that right

- Belief 2 — There are no bad or evil people, just really awesome people that are off of the track

- Belief 3 — There is an advantage in every disadvantage and opportunity in all chaos

In this article, I will be covering the first of the 3 beliefs.

***Be sure to follow me on Medium to get parts 2 & 3 when they are published!***

By adopting these perspectives, you can guard yourself from having bad days for the rest of your days.

Belief #1: The only thing that can go wrong in this world is my own personal attitude, and I can always make that right

When I adopted this belief for myself, I completely revolutionized my life. This one alone made the idea of bad days a thing of the past for me.

Belief 1 sounds cliché, but I assure you that majority of the population has a really hard time manifesting this belief even though it is simple to implement.

With that being said, anyone who can master this belief and use it in times of need will become a personality of power! You will stand out from the crowd. When everyone else is complaining about an adversity, you will remain poised. You will continue to produce and perform regardless of all circumstances, conditions, and events. You will be able to find authentic happiness in the most trying times of your life . When tragedy strikes and when heartbreak and disappoint occur you will continue to thrive.

By adopting this belief, you will understand the phrases ‘The problem isn’t the problem. The problem is what you think about the problem.’

Practical Use of Belief 1

To further describe this belief, let’s take a look at an example that we can all relate to.

Let’s pretend you are stuck in traffic on the way to work or an important event.

Generally speaking, if a person gets stuck in traffic on the way to an important event or on the way to work, the person tends to become frustrated, angry, anxious, or worried. These states of mind tend to lead to hurry and irrational behavior.

The person may fear losing their job. They may fear missing the even that they paid for. They may blow the horn angrily because the car in front of them didn’t inch forward after the car in front of it inched forward. They may get antsy and try to swerve onto the median to see if they can see whether or not it’s construction or an accident. They may curse. They may drive aggressively, increasing the chance for getting a ticket or causing an accident. They may be upset with themselves that they didn’t leave earlier or take a different route. They may think negatively about their spouse, dog, or children who caused them to not be able to leave earlier. They may beat themselves up over being in this situation by belittling themselves and calling themselves names.

And so on, and so on…

Even something as simple as typing all of that made me slightly stressed out! All of those actions sound exhausting, but they are all actions, thoughts, and emotions people tend to have when stuck in traffic.

So how could Belief 1 help the person in a situation like this? What is this person to do in a situation where they are running late?

My answer…

Simply enjoy the moment or do something productive!

The situation of being in traffic isn’t making the individual do anything. They are choosing to be upset, frustrated, hurried, angry, and worried. Those are choices that they are making!

Things to Note:

  • Whether the individual has all of these reactions or not, they’re still going to be late and stuck in traffic.
  • You can’t go back and do it differently, but you can try to do better moving forward. If your boss makes you feel bad about being late, in a very positive and kind tone of voice, simply offer that to them and assure them that you will do your best moving forward.
  • Having these negative reactions will likely create more things for the individual to be pissed off about.
  • The individual doesn’t have a crystal ball that says something bad is going to happen if they are late to where they are going (even if their boss told them that they were going to get fired if they were late again).
  • This isn’t the first time in life that they’ve been late and/or stuck in traffic. They survived the first 100 times, so what makes them think they won’t survive this one?
  • It can always be worse. I’m not a particular fan of this one, but it is true and will always be true.

It is here that I’ll list many of the things that I would do and the potential benefit from each if I were to find myself stuck in traffic:

  1. Gratitude exercises — There are so many things to be thankful for in life that I can’t imagine stressing over one of the few ‘negative things’ about this amazing opportunity to be alive. You’re simply running late. You aren’t committing a heinous crime. If you have a hard time finding things to be grateful for, call me on your next stressful day, and I’ll hear you out and help you! You can be grateful for your loved ones and for your own life. You can be grateful for the many opportunities to come. If you follow me on Medium, you will be sure to find an article on gratitude in the near future.
  2. Audio books — listen to something that qualifies as MIPE (Motivational, Inspirational, Positive, or Educational). With this strategy, the longer the traffic jam, the smarter and more motivated you’ll be by the time you reach your destination. Besides, if you’re about to get fired, you’re going to need something inspirational to keep your head up, and you’ll need a new skill to find your next job LMAO!!!
  3. MIPE YouTube videos — OMG! There are soooo many good ones out there! Just type in any type of motivation and you’ll find what you need. Here are some of my favorite YouTube videos of all time!
  4. Listen to Your favorite music — Go ahead and jam out! You could die tomorrow, so go ahead and enjoy your favorite songs one last time. If you are blessed to live another day, then consider yourself lucky. 151,000 people in the world die each day! Thank God you weren’t one of them
  5. Think — “You are what you are because you think as you do. You are where you are because you think as you do.” you can come up with new ideas, or you can think about what you are going to do with your day! “Action is the second form of thought. Personality is the materialization of thought. Things group themselves and arrange themselves around you according to your thought.” What better time to gain an opportunity to think than sitting in traffic!
  6. Practice Mindfulness — This is an exercise that will surely improve the quality of your life. Be mindful of your surroundings. Take a look at the things in the car. Take a look at the things outside of the car. Look at the sky and the trees. Be mesmerized! See the beauty all around you. Pay attention to your breath. Pay attention to your mood and attitude. Just be present in the moment, and be glad that you are doing just fine NOW! Your boss may fire you as soon as you walk in, but your boss isn’t sitting in the passenger’s seat firing you in this moment. You have plenty of time to deal with your boss when you get to work — if you get to work that is (Remember you could die any second now. I’ll be damned if I die thinking about or doing anything I don’t deliberately want to think about or do! That’s my personal choice!).
  7. Visualize Your Goals and Dreams— This is a very powerful practice that many successful individuals utilize. I spend all of my spare time visualizing me accomplishing my dreams and goals. Visualizing helps to solidify that which you desire into your subconscious mind. I can think about the details. I can think about what it’s going to look like once I reach my targets. Visualizing your dreams also puts you in a positive frame of mind that will lead you to being able to receive more good things. Whenever you arrive to wherever you’re going you will be chipper!

These are just a few of the amazing ways I would spend my time being stuck in traffic.

Remember, this was just an example of one of the many life challenges that we can face in life. However, we can use the same belief — the only thing that can go wrong in this world is my own personal attitude, and I can choose to make that right — in ANY unfavorable circumstance or life event!

Belief 1 is a belief that the truly great individuals of the world choose to have.

The Ultimate Benefit

When you take this attitude, it allows you to think clearly about the solutions as opposed to dwelling on the problem. Dwelling on the problem leads to more problems and impulsive and ineffective solutions.

When you relax and carry an attitude that allows you to stay positive, you are in a frame of mind that will allow you to receive wisdom. Your intuition will be activated, and you will start to receive solutions to your personal and professional riddles from above.

But…

It all starts with the belief that the only thing that can go wrong in this world is yourself, and that you can only go wrong by getting into the wrong mental attitude.

If you adopt this attitude, you will certainly find yourself with an attitude capable of ending bad days once and for all! I literally haven’t had a bad day in 2 years, and it feels amazing to be able to achieve a life like that, and it all starts with Belief 1.

I challenge you to adopt this belief and perspective. I challenge you to use it daily for the rest of your days. When you master it and experience the amazing results, please share it with others!
