There is a huge generation out there who found out how many cool places we can visit in the world. Some people like to travel just for vacation. Others see traveling as a lifestyle, and after some experiences, they decide to live in the road. But how to make it happen? That was the main idea of the event that happened on April 26, at the Startup Basecamp. A group of young and creative minds from Toptal and Nomad Pass organized an event to help other creative minds to find out how to work and travel at the same time.

The event had some speakers that told their experience about how to build a career when you are always with your backpack ready to go. Marcela Kashiwagi, software engineer at Toptal, spoke about her experience during the last months, when she travelled over six countries and kept working remotely. Marcela mentioned that is important to be aware of time zones and make sure that the place where you are going to travel has a good internet connection. She also said that is also important to meet people and make connections.

This type of event is interesting not only to build relations, but also to learn more about companies that support travelers, foreigners, and anyone looking for a new experience. The event Work and Travel: how to make it happen, just happened because three companies worked together. I didn’t know any of them, and I am already in love for their work.

Toptal is a network of freelancers from more than 100 countries. It is a tool for companies that are looking for talents for a variety of projects. Toptal is also an amazing platform for software developers, designers, and finance experts that are looking for freelance jobs.

Nomad Pass is a company that believes that the economy are being reshaped by millenniums that are no longer looking for stationary 9–5 jobs. Their platform enables professionals to work remotely from anywhere in the world. They offer a list of places where you can live and work from, and also they help you to connect with a community of professionals that are in the same boat, just like you.

Startup Basecamp is a gateway to the Silicon Valley ecosystem for startup professionals and entrepreneurs. They offer a startup environment where you can live, work, and collaborate with an innovative community.

So if you are thinking about travel and work, check it out, get in touch, look for connections. We are all in the same road, flight, cable car, boat. We are all travelers moving on.
