I was listening to Tim Ferriss’s interview with Doris Kearns Goodwin, author of several biographies of U.S. presidents from FDR to LBJ, when Ferriss asked about her early childhood experiences and which ones shaped her character. Goodwin said one of the greatest gifts her father ever gave her was optimism.
