The next step in work-culture
How the vision of having a global tribe is closer then ever before!
Not long ago, living one’s life in uniqueness, self-actualisation and meaning was way beyond possibilities. The majority of people had to worry about financial stability and security instead of the meaning their life could have.
It is incredible what society has achieved in the last few decades. Hitting the upper levels of Maslow’s hierarchy (beyond self-esteem to self-actualisation) was only imaginable for the very most wealthy members of society.
We have reached a point where this luxury can be reached by nearly everyone. Eventually many people are looking for their purpose, travel the world and live almost limitless already in a very young age!
My last post was about why I wanted to live in a tribe again (bit.ly/livehtribe). I am still driven to succeed and working on the solution. Therefore I spend the last months working together with my friend and companion Marcel on a crowdfunding campaign, to collect the initial money needed to build a global tribe for everyone. I want to enable people, living a better life by changing the way in which we work and providing everything needed to realise one’s true potential.
We choose to have our impact by building a global co-creation community and co-working infrastructure, uniting people who choose to be the pioneers in living a new work culture, meeting the needs of the modern human being.
Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs
Let’s make use of Maslow’s hierarchy to understand how we want to achieve that:
Do you know, where you are at the moment? Do you find yourself repeatedly worrying about something? Financial stability? Social stability? Uniqueness & Significance? Or even meaning and impact?
It is not that we are only focusing on one stage all the time. Your position in this pyramid is fluid through your life. You might be on the lower rungs now, but in a year you could be at the top, most likely still a little worrying about lower aspects. That’s life!
Therefore, new models have emerged based on Maslow’s findings. I for myself believe that we can describe our needs in 6 dimensions:
Structure, Flexibility, Belonging, Significance, Growth & Impact
The h·community and our co-working infrastructure are meant to provide everything needed to full-fill those needs.

STRUCTURE
Structure, Security, Certainty, Reliability, Certitude, Comfort, Safety
In what degree do you need to feel in control and to know what’s coming next?
Everyone is looking for a certain structure in his life. It gives certainty, safety and a feeling of comfort. In h·spaces we are therefore providing everyone with a place to work structured in an familiar environment, wherever they go.
FLEXIBILITY
Flexibility, Variation, Spontaneity, Change, Variety, Adventure
Do you look for Adventure? Do you like Change, Discovery and new Experiences?
The second need stands in contrast to the first one, as it is uncertainty: the need for surprises and new experiences. Everyone is looking for a variety in his life, therefore h·spaces we choose to build a global infrastructure instead of independent spaces. People who like to be flexible or even want to go on an adventure can move between spaces however they like. One week, you can work from one city, while the next week you can work from another one and so on.
BELONGING
Belonging, Connection, Unity, Association, Relation
How much value do you put in your relations? Do you rather see yourself as individualistic or in-group driven?
Belonging is one of our main missions as a huge part of our target group are freelancers, entrepreneurs and people who work remotely. We want to build a community and culture where everyone feels welcomed and supported from the first moment. Therefore we designed the spaces to find a balance between privacy, exchange and events.
SIGNIFICANCE
Significance, Uniqueness, Importance, Speciality, Relevance
In what degree do you need to feel important, special, unique, or needed?
In our community we want to ensure that everyone can contribute and feel significant through the work they are doing. Every success is a shared success and will be celebrated. Our members are called citizens and our spaces co-creation spaces, as everyone will be able to contribute to the success and unfold his own self.
GROWTH
Growth, Learning, Improvement, Maturity, Wisdom
How much emphasis do you put into growing and improving yourself?
We embrace exchange and co-creative thinking to accelerate each others growth and make use of different perspectives. In h·spaces we want you to nourish your passion and grow over yourself. Additionally to the exchange in the spaces we are enabling our citizens to access the global h·network through our app.
IMPACT
Impact, Contribution, Purpose, Meaning, Relevance
The secret to living is giving. How much do you focus and align your life on creating meaning?
Impact, that is what all this is about. Today’s societal and technological advancement is making it possible, that everyone can meet all his needs which means they can focus on self-actualisation and working on their purpose, having a meaningful impact. That is what h·spaces are finally about.
