People often refer to a placebo as if it’s something to be dismissed. Things like sugar pills, snake oils, coincidences and superstitions are usually overlooked and quickly forgotten. But if you have a headache, and you swallow a sugar pill, and your headache disappears, then how can we ignore the significance of such a phenomenon?
