We’re Our Own Worst Enemies!

Do you repeatedly put yourself down without even trying?

Do you criticize yourself (or your work) all the time?

Do you always avoid taking risk thinking you’re not capable enough?

“Been there and done all of that!”

I too used to dwell on negative thoughts.

When I first entered the writing industry 4 years back, I wanted to start my own blog and build a loyal readership.

I wanted to share all my knowledge and the lessons I learned hard way so that other aspiring writers won’t have to go through the same.

But every time I tried taking the next step, I just some how talked myself out of doing it.

Reason? — Fear, depression, anxiety, no self-confidence — there were too many!

But the biggest reason was, I was being my own worst enemy!

I thought no one will ever care what I have to say.

I thought I don’t even deserve an audience.

But the truth is, building a loyal readership for my writing doesn’t look as complicated as I thought it would be at that time.

Especially after getting my work published on big media platforms and tripling inbound leads at my job, I learned an important lesson.

I learned that to give ourselves the best chance of success, we need to have a plan to follow.

What kind of plan ?

Well, there are lots of ways actually.

For instance, you could enroll in a college to study a course you’re interested in.

You could also find a mentor if you can’t afford college.

And if nothing works, you can always “fail better” to your way to success.

In my case, I decided to go with the 3rd approach.

As soon as I made my decision, I started learning everything I could about writing and online marketing and then applied it for myself.

Once I did that and saw what worked and what not, I started sharing all of it with others through my blog.

The bottom line is this…

I know the kind of problems you have to deal with at work and at home.

But you need to realize the fact that most of your problems are not nearly as bad as you think they are.

Most of the time, we over-exaggerate.

We are doing nothing more but just being our own worst enemies.

I should know. I always used to come up with new and creative ways to mess things up. I also always used to push myself too hard and then beat myself up when things did not work outas I’d hoped.

So trust me when I say this:

There is no need to criticize or evaluate yourself in any way.

Try to accept yourself as you are & without any judgement and continue working towards your goal.

Freeing yourself from the self-critic will allow you to step away from anxiety and the unnecessary burden you’ve imposed on yourself.

Accept your mistakes, accept your flaws, accept your weaknesses, and focus on your strength.

Just don’t be your own worst enemy!
