What I asked for during the solar eclipse kicked my metaphysical ass

As the 2017 solar eclipse approached, my excitement grew, I had a very special ceremony in mind to harness this unique fire energy. The invitations went out to my small, inner circle of fellow spiritual seekers.

Each was asked to bring a written intention to be burned at the moment of totality. So I’m sure you’re wondering, what intention did you throw in the fire Bevin?

I asked for the mother of all intentions. Drum roll…

The integration of my soul and ego.

Say what?

Yes, I realize a part of me was super naïve, yet I also understood on an unconscious level what I asked for and welcomed it in.

The total and complete overhaul of every aspect of my life. Nothing was sacred in the trajectory my life took over the past twelve months.

Career, health, home, family, relationships, spiritual path, childhood wounds, all on the table for intimate examination, overhaul and change.

I venture to guess about .0147% of my life is the same as last year.

To say this journey has been exhausting and tested me to my limit, is an understatement.

Fire burning through my identity like a moth to the flame. A systemic breaking down of my ego to its humble roots.

Embracing that my soul is indeed, the true navigator of my life.

Letting go of any semblance of control. The tendency to grasp and hold on, being transmuted into a walk in faith.

My inner strength honed after each test I moved through.

I know what you’re thinking — the integration of soul and ego is a lifelong pursuit. True, but I had not officially committed to set off on that path until that moment.

The moment the moon, symbolizing our inner knowing, eclipses the sun, the outer personality we present to the world.

A perfect metaphor for the integration of soul and ego. The soul as our compass, our map, while the ego implements our mission in ‘real life.’

What do I understand now that I didn’t know then?

I learned a few things.

Life can turn on a dime. The only thing we have is now. Every decision we make either forces us into separation or invites us closer to Oneness.

Our world is at a crossroads, we will either choose the same worn out path of misuse of power, authoritarianism, conflict and materialism we’ve trodden for too many years,

or

We will build a foundation to usher in a new era of widespread empathy, health, prosperity and peace for all people and our planet.

I’m choosing door #2.

We each have a unique soul mission, it’s why we are here.

Everything in your life is Divinely guided to support the pursuit of your mission. Every experience, every person who showed up to be your teacher, every painful moment, every triumph.

Are you ready for soul-ego integration?

Trust me, you can handle it.

At some point in our lives, most of us ask:

  • Why am I here?
  • What am I supposed to be doing?
  • How do I fit into my community, in the world?
  • What’s my greatest potential?

Imagine if those questions could be answered. Imagine knowing your life’s purpose so clearly you could state it boldly without hesitation in a few powerful words.

Getting clear about your soul mission streamlines your energy and focus so that you can make the difference you feel called to make. Living your soul mission is the greatest gift you have to give to others and, at the same time, is the path of your greatest lessons.

If you, or someone you know, is asking these questions, please consider joining us for Soul Mission, a unique weekend retreat taking place in Grapevine, Texas in February 2019. Learn more and register by Nov. 1 to receive early bird pricing…
