What’s Your Why?
WHY is probably the most compelling word in the English dictionary. It has all the questions and answers hidden that can give your life a purpose. If you do not ask “WHY” you do not live life, you just drag through it.
It is one of life’s greatest joys to wake up in the morning… every morning, with a clear sense of why that day matters, why every day matters.
People don’t buy what you do, they buy why you do it…
Whether you’re an entrepreneur, an employee, a leader of a team or division or you want to tackle the WHY of your entire organization, discovering the WHY injects passion into your work. And it’s those who start with WHY that have the ability to inspire those around them.
My why is to inspire people to do the things that inspire them so, together, each of us can change our world for the better.
I write my heart out to advice others as a friend to motivate them in their endeavor. That’s who I am and my opportunity is to find the creative ways in which I can bring who I am and inject life into it, so that in the long run people get motivated by my good things and I get motivated by the good feedback of my followers.
It’s a give and take relationship and helps all of us to achieve what we want to achieve in the due course of time.
Most of us believe in living life the way the common mass does — the easy way out serves to be more convincing to us — we live as it happens.
Fulfillment comes when we live our lives on purpose — by setting standards; by setting goals; by setting a consistent action process.
While there’s no one pathway for discovering your life’s purpose, there are many ways you can gain deeper insight into yourself, and a larger perspective on what it is that you have to offer the world.
What breathes life into you???
This is not about your love for your football team or cheering for your best friend in a volleyball show off game. It’s about that one WHY which brings you to think twice, and moves your body parts to act.
I’m talking about a why that moves up the food chain from being about you to being about something bigger than you.
Your why should also be congruent with who you are and what you want to achieve in your life.
What are your strengths???
Are you a person with naturally good communication skills who can make friends very easily? Or are you someone who is extremely empathetic towards the needy sections of the society? Or are you a leader and excel in solving problems with meticulous skills? Or are you a person who can adapt to any changing circumstance without a woo? Or are you unique, creative or independent?
Find out the things you have always been good at. Think out of the box and find your strengths.
Of course, you can also be passionate about things you have no natural talent for, and talented at things for which you hold little passion. However experience has shown me that we rarely aspire toward ambitions we have no natural talent to achieve.
What are the things you should Value???
Your values and your strengths go hand in hand. Just because you have an in born talent, and you innately have that strength in-built, you cannot ignore that and take it for granted. You have to work upon it and increase your potential to a higher level.
You can also ask yourself what problems you really enjoy solving, and what problems you feel passionate about trying to solve. You’ll then be more successful at focusing on your natural strengths and those things you’re innately good at than trying to bolster or eliminate your weaknesses.
Our interests and impulses are messages we should listen to. Desire is possibility seeking expression.
Growth doesn’t occur without change and reaching out. Only when you step out of your comfort zone will you be able to reach out to help others. Encourage those around you to tap into their hidden potential, there lies greatness inside all of us. Wake it up!
Look around you again, what do you care about? What would you change? Look wider. Examine your daily life, your community, your family, and your business. What are you concerned about? What would you change? What inspires you? Maybe you can change things for the better. Maybe the seeds of a greater contribution already lives within you.
Knowing your purpose may compel you to take on challenges that will stretch you as much as they inspire you. Just as a boat under power can handle any size wave if perpendicular to it, when you’re powered by a clear purpose, there is little you cannot do.
When you know WHY you do WHAT you do, even the toughest days become easier.
