Why You SHOULD Stop Trying To Be Yourself

We’re often told that we should simply be ourselves. Rather it is because we want to approach a gorgeous woman or have an important job interview, we are told to be ourselves.

The reason I hate this bit of advice is because it makes no f*cking sense. Mainly because that’s obvious, but also because being myself is obviously not going to cut it.

For example, I recently had a job interview and I was talking to a friend who is also an employee at the same company. He told me all about what to expect, but then ended it with “just be yourself”.

If being myself was all I needed, I would’ve never asked for advice.

Instead of being yourself, be better. That is what it will take. It will take someone better than your current self to get the task done.

Want to approach a beautiful woman? Don’t be yourself, be the best version of yourself. Want to ace that job interview? Be the best version of yourself.

Not saying that the current version of yourself can’t handle the situation, but if it could, would it be nervous or second-guessing itself? No.

Nervousness tends to come from self-doubt or low self-confidence. You’re worrying about the negative and weighing higher than the positive.

By being the best version of yourself, you’re forcing yourself to become nothing but the best. You’ll weed out all weakness in you and only bring forward the best of you.

All that nervousness will be pushed to the back of your mind and all you’ll be thinking about is what you’ll be having for dinner after you ace the task at hand.

However, this doesn’t need to be done just in high-pressured situations, but also in everyday life. From the time you wake up to the time you go to sleep, you should be destined to be the best version of yourself that you can be.

Tell me what you think… I know you may have something to add! Thanks for reading and definitely share with your friends…especially the ones that always tell you to “be yourself”!
