Why Your Life Is Your Legacy And How You Can Change It
It’s not always about what you have, it’s about the value you bring to the table.
I used to fantasize about fame.
I used to daydream of the legacy I’d leave behind; perhaps I would be like Fitzgerald, one of the greatest writers in history.
I’d live a wild lifestyle filled with parties and booze, and then I’d come home and spill my heart out on a typewriter (or in my case, a mac).
Or perhaps I’d captivate readers with my philosophical views and inspirational words; I’d provide the grandest escape from life for them with my words.
People that have influence and people who do leave behind legacies are the ones who live on in the hearts of all the people they’ve touched. They might not be physically here, but their principles, philosophies, and achievements will become immortal, spreading from generation to generation.
I used to believe that a legacy was solely based on your achievements; if you want to leave a legacy worth anything, you had to work till death and achieve the highest ranking status possible. You had to pursue success — and nothing else.
