It’s no secret we live in a world that is fraught with anger, turmoil, hostility, indifference. Our news streams are bombarded by hate and uncertainty. Our children only know a home stacked with technology, an infinite stream of blue scrolls.

Despite rapidly-increasing innovations in medicine and technology — or perhaps because of them — we have come to isolate ourselves from one another, disconnecting from our fellow human beings, our neighbors, our families, our communities. We move through life tired and alone. What is the purpose of a world in which we stand so divided and disparate?

This epidemic of isolation and detachment in modern society affects us all, across races, genders and cultures. We live in fear of the present, because we are failing to live up to our worth as capable, compassionate human beings. We know modern society does not represent the highest manifestation of who we can be, as a community or as individuals.

But when we come together, we are capable of more. History is our validation. Throughout mankind, humanity has witnessed people coming together — for support, spiritual growth and social development, in monasteries and schoolhouses, at Friday night dinners, for meditation and dances in the desert. These acts of intentional gathering are what make life whole; they breed tolerance and understanding of others. It requires peace to sit at a dinner table across from someone different from you — a deep awareness that ‘other’ does not represent good or bad. That ‘other’ is actually you, because we are all one.

There is no more time to wait. The future of humanity requires separating from the old and moving into the new: into a new era defined by the awareness of our collective potential.

We have created a home in New York City — The Assemblage NoMad — to move into this new era together; it is a space where ideas, people and experiences come together. A space to undo the past and shape a new narrative for the future. Our lives and our children’s lives rely on it. We invite you to assemble with us. We invite you join us in the Age of Assembly.
