Confessions of a Former Trad Wife
How I was swept up in Christian Fundamentalist movement.
The trad wife movement has been showing up all over social media. Trad wife, short for traditional wife, is a trend where the creators will make this idealized image of what a traditional wife looks like. They show images similar to 1950’s sitcoms and show how beautiful that life would be.
These creators ignore the sadistic side of what a true traditional marriage looks like. Behind the glamourous and beautiful images, lies something far darker.
How I became a trad wife
It was never something I sought out. It was something that happened.
I have always been a both feet in kind of person. If I am going to do something, I will do it all the way. I get impassioned about things and at times let that carry me away.
At one point, that included my faith. I had been raised in a Christian home, but through my teens and early 20’s I struggled with a lot of complex issues regarding my own faith. In college I found an organization that pushed me towards a deeper faith, and I ran with it.
