Why Women Say “It’s Nothing” and What They Really Mean

It almost never means “nothing.”

Every man has been there.

You’re with your girlfriend, wife, or the woman you’re dating. You have fun, chit-chat, and everything seems fine except for… something. You can’t put your finger on it, but you feel something’s amiss.

She acts slightly aloof, takes longer to respond, isn’t as touchy, or rejects your advances towards some sexy time. It’s not obvious, but it’s too much to be missed.

You decide to ask her what’s wrong and she hits you with the good old “it’s nothing”. Still, you’re damn sure there’s something bothering her. But instead of telling you what it is, she insists on that nothing like a hardcore vegan on the claim that nutritional yeast tastes just like cheese.

And finally, after half an hour of back-and-forth, it turns out that it wasn’t nothing at all.

Jessica from HR made an offhand remark about her looks. You forgot to buy milk although she told you. She’s tired and has a headache. You made a comment she deemed insensitive.

“Damn”, you think to yourself. “If she told me right away, we’d have saved ourselves a lot of time and arguing.”
