Pretty generic, this publication’s title. It’s necessary because The Automotive Report will cover every possible subject related to automobiles: past, present, and future. It needs to accommodate stories about the Ford Model T and Niki Lauda just as easily as it does articles about the engineering behind Mercedes-Benz EQ Boost and the technology powering Cadillac Super Cruise.

Here you might:

  • Read about Harley Earl, legendary General Motors designer
  • Learn how to change your own oil, right in your own driveway
  • Watch a YouTube video posted by a professional reviewer or car company
  • Listen to an embedded Anchor podcast about fuel-cell vehicles or autonomous driving technology
  • Learn what “donk” and “hoon” and “hella flush” mean
  • And so much more

The Automotive Report is an experiment. At first, members of the Motor Press Guild are eligible to contribute. They can create original content. They can promote content they’ve published elsewhere. They can re-publish content to which they have the rights. The goal is to give members of the Motor Press Guild a platform on which to show their talent, promote their work, and build an audience.

Ultimately, we’ll open the publication to other automotive media associations around the United States, until Medium tells us we can’t add any more writers and editors. And if this effort is met with a collective “meh” from automotive journalists, public relations professionals, and Medium readers, that will be the end of this experiment.
