Friday, March 2, Avid on Prince, 6–7pm: Jon Jefferson, Wave of Terror

Jon Jefferson, local author and one-half of writing duo Jefferson Bass, will celebrate the release of his latest book Wave of Terror with a decidedly non-terrorizing, very pleasant event. Read all about it here!
Saturday, March 3, Avid in Five Points, 10am: Ward Jenkins, Salam Alaikum: A Message of Peace

Tuesday, March 6, Avid on Prince, 6–7p.m.: Abby Hanlon, Dory Fantasmagory: Head in the Clouds

Monday, March 12, 40 Watt Club, 6:30–7:30pm, $7: Pénélope Bagieu, Brazen: Rebel Ladies Who Rocked the World
For fans of: Nonfiction books about awesome historical figures, YA books, graphic novels
Pénélope Bagieu’s YA book is about badass women throughout history, so we wanted to host an event that would celebrate the awesome female and non-binary artists in Athens. Artist and curator Tatiana Veneruso (artistic director at the Trio art gallery in Athens) will join Pénélope in conversation. Avid is partnering with Girls Rock Athens for this event; members from Girls Rock Athens will play some songs during the event, and $2 from every ticket will go to the organization. Who says story time is just for kids? (Not us!!). Avid introduces a new story time series for adults who want other adults to read them stories. Because who doesn’t like stories?? (Again, not us!). Join us for our inaugural event featuring bookseller Kelsey and her love for contemporary classics, including Kurt Vonnegut and his book Welcome to the Monkey House.
