An abecedarian could
Be
Crafted that
Does work —
Even
Figuring that you
Get exactly 100 words and
Haven’t
In fact
Just solely been limited to 100 words.
Keep in mind, the other
Limitation is that you’re writing about “1921.”
Meaning,
Not
Only is there this word count
Puzzle, it’s also
Quite important to
Remember to
Say something about the year 1921 —
That it is exactly 100 years ago. And
Unless you
View that particular “centennial” comment as inadequate
Would you also find
Xylophone to be a stretch? I suppose
You would. And here I thought I was in my
Zone

I’m a coward. How could I post a 100 word story and wait a whole month afterwards? This way, it’s done. Maybe it breaks the ice for other writers. Gotta be worth something…

Here’s the prompt — issued on 1–1–2021 by Jonica Bradley:

And here is a great source for readers and writers:

There is one in there, a book published in 1921 that I considered using when answering the challenge. It is Zane Grey’s The Mysterious Rider. It’s not available full-text on that site (I don’t think), but not hard to find online. It’s an interesting story and really shows how culture and lifestyle in America has changed in a mere 100 years! So use that book, or find one that speaks to you, Bad Influence writers.

Here is one by Reuben Salsa. Why I like it? I don’t know, but it tickles me.

But seriously folks . . . I’ve spent time with people who were halfway through their lives in 1921. Meaning I’ve known people who experienced wagon trains, the gold rush, and the Holocaust. Here’s a story that moved me, about the Massacre of 1921 in Tulsa:

1921 was a whole different universe. It’s worth learning about. Thank you Debbie Walker for writing about the Massacre. Thank you for Middle-Pause too.

Thanks everybody . . . FRED
