Let me start this with a simple statement: Google is free. Double-check me. Sundown towns are not something that existed long ago. They still exist.

Many of Trump's current campaign stops have one thing in common: they are/were "Sundown towns."

My parents would drive their six kids around the country on cheap car trips. Mom would fry chicken and make thick buttermilk biscuits and jelly sandwiches. We shared a big water jar, which my parents would refill over and over again. They would not buy food as we traveled the interstate highways, as my dad wanted to make as few stops as possible.

Dad would pile us in the car, and we would ride to some relative's home to stay with them. I remember the detailed planning for those trips. There were places where we didn't stop. I am old enough to have personally seen segregated restrooms, water fountains, and colored entrances to stores.
