Four years ago we bought a new vacuum cleaner and a Christmas tree with Trump-voting friends. The vacuum cleaner still works, and now, we’re speaking to these friends again, through texts.

Our house is clean, our priorities clear. Love and sanity and forgiveness. I hope they feel the same.
