I am in four online groups with ‘sister’ titles though I grew up without a single female sibling.
First, my six sisters-in-law and I created a WhatsApp group called Sisterz. Then a group of women I go swimming with formed another group called Swimsisters, to organise swimming sessions.
Then a bunch of my forever friends set up a group called Sistawoman, in honour of a poem by Adziko Simba Gegele by that title.
Finally, I’m in an all-women group of twelve-step female fellows — called Sisters.
They are all my heroines; here for me and one another.
