If you counted the paper journals holding two or three years’ drafts, I would say that I have hundreds of drafts never turned into stories.

And every draft begets more drafts — my cup surely runneth over. I’ve always had a childlike imagination. I’m almost embarrassed by my fecundity. (Not really.)
