Thrifty Words Challenge #11: Late

Am I Late Yet? . . . (author)

Did that even make sense, what I wrote? I’m too young to have senile dementia. But maybe I’m looking at it backwards.

After all, I drooled and babbled once before in this lifetime. Before that I don’t think I existed, even in somebody’s imagination.

(I’m tentatively thinking that explains everything.)

I was looking at the prompt promised for today, Monday, January 18. But 20 minutes into the day . . . no prompt. Oh, I was ready. I thought maybe since winter was a recent prompt, maybe they’d jump the gun and use the irresistible word “Spring” for January. So I have a photo and draft waiting in case it is spring…

Oh well. You know, I tried to write an article back when “Late” was still the prompt. Somehow the Medium machine ate 5 drafts, and I ultimately figured that Zendesk had, for whatever machine reason (or however ‘it’ thinks) decided to blacklist me (again). Don’t ask — If I told you you’d lose your little remaining faith in Medium.

Go Ahead Zendesk: Bite Me!

Still, being an advanced intelligence, I’ve intelligently converted my pressure of speech into pressure of writing. Same pathology, different result. I’m okay with that. It’s just a hobby anyway, right? Well, that’s true in my case. I wonder how other writers see it . . .

Well, if Itxy Lopez can’t explain it, nobody could:

Thank you, readers. There really is a pressure to write that comes from within. I’ve been bugged that I never wrote for this silly prompt, but now I can relax. So again, thank you!
