I’ve Double Booked Again!
What’s a girl to do?
Life is busy. That much is true. There’s been much excitement in our family about the forthcoming nuptials of my husband’s youngest sister. That’s probably why I forgot an important date that’s been in my calendar for almost a decade.
I only discovered 10 years ago there’s a special ceremony at the Catholic Cathedral in London — Westminster Cathedral. It’s called the Annual Mass of Thanksgiving for Matrimony — an one-hour ceremony taking place once a year.
Only couples celebrating their 5th, 10th, 15th, 25th, 30th, 40th, 50th, and 60+ years of marriage are invited.
Those are the only years smug marrieds like myself can take part. No exceptions — I checked. Several times.
I wish I’d found out about it before our fifth or tenth anniversary.
Kidding — I know we only find out about things when we’re meant to.
So it’s been on my wish list for ages. I put a note in my phone calendar to remind me that we could participate in 2025.
