Thrifty Word Challenge 100 #94: Loss
i shape the contours of your face
inside a memory. the softness of your cheek.
your voice far clearer now than when you sadly so
departed. hair. a curl of white within a locket’s keep
your crowning-glory tumbled ‘cross these lines
i trace. a muse upon-a-time when words were
sometimes harsh. that place. where guilt resides
and sorry is a word right now too late. an empty space
where pennies for your thoughts somehow appear
inadequate. but how this girl would give far more
to see you now and tame this current weep of tears.
which you would hate. always.
