And the passing of hope

Old Demdike had a daughter who danced
with the hangman’s noose. as the gallows
dripped her bones in death tongue starved
of an untold truth. child Jennet took her
mother’s life with words all served from
a platter of lies. brain washed lean by
the chatter of twisted bribes preying on a
pliable mind. feet defying as the gibbet
dropped hard ‘lizabeth’s skirts swung by
the rocking of rope. and so swayed Jennet
with the passing of time. starved. by the
passing of hope.
