The Bad Influence

Sweet Sixteen wasn’t So Sweet

Remembering being a teen with IdeaStream №.16

I remember sixteen,
hormones cascading,
green at being a teen.

Blushing around a first crush,
the brunt of cruel jokes,
awkward around old folks,
and lovely young blokes —
none of whom understood
or honestly answered
my desperate day’s questions.

We’re a Bad Influence because we INCITE change through inclusion, thought and creativity. We imagine a world where people can think critically, express themselves, and thumb their nose at the status quo, together.
