I’ve worked in public libraries and know that the people who need access the most have barriers to using them.

  • The hours don’t fit their schedule.
  • Getting a library card requires an address.
  • Losing library privileges for lost books.
  • That’s why mobile libraries are so important. They can go to apartment complexes, malls, neighborhood events, recreation centers, and preschools.

I was thrilled to see the bus outside our parking ramp.

When the Book Buggie started up, I signed up to volunteer. The time slots didn’t work with my work schedule, so I was never able to follow through.

This was my chance to take a tour. Today’s volunteer, Jude, greeted me at the door and invited me aboard. She answered my questions and told me I could take two books home. I took one and will give it to my neighbors.
