The Handmaids Tale

Being written in the real world…Gilead personified.

“Blessed be the fruit.”

But what about the tree? The tree that carries, nourishes, and creates the fruit.

“Fuck..ed be the tree?”

(Well literally yes, there has to be Fucking to create the fruit I am talking of, but seriously…humor aside. WTF?)

If you don't know what I am talking about, then get out from under your rock and read this —

I cannot help but compare this real world to the fictitious world (or so we thought it was…seems all too real now) of Hulu’s show The Handmaid’s Tale. The dystopian show where women were cows? Remember?

I remember thinking during the first season, that Margaret Atwood had an amazing imagination.

Lo, behold…welcome to Gilead! (Doesn't seem so imaginative anymore, seems eerily real.)
Gilead…where the fundamentalist regime treated women as property of the state. Sounds too close to home right about now.
