The problem with poetry
is that
it is called
POETRY
A word long outlived
its usefulness
long outlived
its value
its explanation boring

POETRY
the word
no longer makes us quiver
with
EXOTIC PASSION
no longer releases
THE HEAT
from words far more superior
no longer able
to transport its last
CENTURY
to this new
MULTI DIVERSITY

POETRY
the word
has lost its
AMORE
no longer able to transcend
the
WARRIOR’s SPIRIT
to
ZEN

POETRY
the word
no longer able to translate
its
HISTORIC
Sir Edgar Allen
POE
sadly limping into today’s
SPOKEN WORD
having to settle with
the condescendence of
nice
TRY
broken into
syllabus by the limited few

POETRY
the word
is our greatest challenge
it is high time we say
adieu
