There Is A Sadness~
There is a sadness deep within each of us that we struggle to contain
with our Jokes
our humour
our silence
just the deep endless pain
With each passing year this sadness grows
It consumes
yet showing no evidence of it presence
And it grows
yet taking away no visible space
With each passing year our silence shouts louder
yet no sound does it make
and we cry inside yet showing no tears
With each passage of another
one so much younger
so much like us
sadness builds its home as a monument
to its inevitability
evidence of our mortality
and still it grows
There is a sadness deep within each of us that we struggle to hide
with our madness
our violence
our inhumanity
just the endless pain deep inside
With each passing year this sadness controls
slowly we becoming its liege
its grip getting stronger with age
yet our facial and physical maintains
And it grows
and in coming in contact it sews
yet nothing visible grows
but in the mass silence everybody knows
So distance grows
without a word being spoken
loneliness becomes the only one
with whom their support not broken
