At first

my teenage years
Still trying to remember what the years were all about

a very narrow window of opportunity
Shortened by your

Maligning
Reminding
Chastising
Before finally
expressing your
Abject
Objections
to my refusal
to grow up
while holding my chains
even tighter
than I can remember
being that of a child.
Never made it to the
BAR
Your disappointment
unless of course we speak of

Med School
Your disappointment

credit can be given for my knowledge
