Response to Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?

The whole mood managing thing in the beginning of the book was quite particular. When most people talk about the difference between humans and robots that most common thing people think about is the fact that humans have a large range of emotions and feelings and that robots lack those things, and that’s what makes them less than humans.

The ability to react and respond emotionally to situations is extremely human. But to be able to mechanically control our emotions that is done in the book is so very robotic. It is like they are simply imputing commands is the hub that is their bodies. And if they can do that to the humans, why not the androids. Would that blur the distinction between the two even further in the book. What about real life? If we suddenly got the ability to control our emotions what would people choose to feel, if anything at all?

Personally, I’d choose more confidence and courage to do the things i want to and talk to the people I want to. To get rid of self-doubt and self deprecation. To choose to be happier if I could.
