Reaching The Summit On The Journey Of A Lifetime

Photo by Sylvain Mauroux on Unsplash

I can see the top.

As I adjust my bags and catch my breath I stare up at the summit. I’ve been climbing this mountain for the past few days, but it feels like a lifetime.

I prepared for this, I trained for this. Yet the climb has been harder than I expected. I’ve slipped and fallen, I’ve scraped my knees. A few times I thought all hope was lost.

I have always wondered about the meaning of life and why we are here; using history, religion, and philosophy I attempt to figure it out.
