With all the depressing doom-and-gloom about blogging lately, it’s time for some good news.

Earlier today, Mediavine (one of the biggest and best display ad networks) sent me an email with a big announcement. Even though I knew it was coming, it still put a big grin on my face.

Here’s why.

The Good News Is Actually Great News

In the email, Mediavine announced a new program called “Journey,” which allows access to Mediavine for much smaller websites. Their standard requirements are 50,000 page views per month.

That’s no easy task for individual bloggers with a day job.

If you know, you know.

But with Journey, you can apply for Mediavine much sooner — at 10,000 pageviews per month. Still a lot, still hard work, but at 40K fewer pageviews, it’s really good news.

What You Need To Do

The first step is to get your website to 10,000 pageviews per month. When you get close, add Grow (an engagement suite to grow your audience), since you need Grow for 30 days to be eligible for Mediavine.

To summarize in an easy-to-scan version, check out the bullet points below.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • 10K pageviews per month
  • Grow on your website for 30 days

After you reach those milestones, submit your site to Mediavine. My display ad revenue with them has been fantastic. Double what I made with other display ad networks.
