Blogging really sucks for the first 8–12 months.

Even longer if, like me, you start off on the wrong track, don’t know the best practices, or don’t have access to high-traffic generating methods.

Over the last few years, I’ve taken three websites to over a combined 100,000 page views per month.

This is how to get traffic to your blog if you have 0 visitors.

Check Your Engine

If you’re not getting traffic to your website, it could be because of how you set up your website.

Your best bet is to:

  • Launch a self-hosted website, such as with WordPress.org and Bluehost.
  • Use a fast and simple theme like Astra to set up your site so it loads quickly.
  • Create the required legal pages including the Disclaimer, Privacy Policy, Terms & Conditions, and an About page.
  • Use a simple and easy navigation menu that silos your content into big related buckets (Beginner Questions, Buyers Guides, etc).
  • Make sure that as much of your content as possible is accessible from the homepage…
