It was announced Wednesday, that Missy Elliott is to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Per the Hall of Fame, Missy’s induction has to do with forging:

“new paths for women in the music industry and society at large through her behind-the-scenes mastery and unapologetic ownership of her body, her sexual desires, and her Blackness in her music.”

Some of the other inductees include: Willie Nelson, Sheryl Crow, Rage Against the Machine, Kate Bush, The Spinners, George Michael, Chaka Khan, Bernie Taupin, Al Kooper, Don Cornelius, DJ Kool Herc and Link Wray.
