Tonight we celebrate Ralph and Darla’s new bundle of joy at their baby shower. The house on the farm is being cleared out. The couple are sleeping on the floor because it is actually beneficial for Darla’s back. Ralph looks around the room at the packed boxes, still seemingly disturbed at the thought of leaving the farm.

On the other part of town, Vi relaxes in her chair with some cucumber water and an eye mask as Hollywood watches. He enjoys watching a rested Vi. Hollywood and Gabriel are still in contact via phone even after the fall out with Celine. He reminds Vi that none of what happened with Celine was Gabriel’s fault and although Vi agrees, she appears unsettled by the news.

Charley prepares her place for the baby shower. She reminisces about when she was pregnant with Micah — and tells her son he is everything she dreamed he would be. Micah commends her for everything she has been taking on as of late, crowning her Wonder Woman. Billie gets herself ready for the baby shower. She worries if she will be accepted after all that has happened but Prosper assures her that she will.

Nova receives some information on the remains found on the farm from Dominic. They’re from the late 1800's and there are multiple remains. The land was likely a grave site. Nova tells Dominic more about Darla and Ralph’s story and he hopes something can potentially be done to retain the farm. When Dominic asks Nova to grab him a slice of pie, she invites him to attend the baby shower with her.

Blue is home for the celebration of his little sister. Ralph takes his son’s measurements at the wall that they’ve always used to record his growth. Blue looks forward to seeing the baby get measured on the same wall. Ralph realizes that Blue must learn the truth about what is going to happen with the house and the farm.

On their walk around the farm, Ralph attempts to look back on past events with Blue but Blue knows something is going on. He asks about all the packed boxes and wonders what is going on. Ralph explains that sometimes in life we make bad decisions out of fear. He tells Blue what his intentions were with giving Blue his special space on the farm but because of his desperation for money they must now leave the farm. Blue expresses the farm is home as he hangs his head in disappointment. Ralph assures him that things will be okay.

At the shower, Blue fills Aunt Vi in on everything he has been doing at school. Nova walks in with Dominic and introduces him to Micah and Blue. She introduces him to the rest of the family and he is warmly embraced. Charley comments on missing the news of Dominic but Nova tells her they are not official just yet, although she desires it.

Darla sends out special words of gratitude to each member of the family including Vi. She thanks Vi for being there to raise Blue when they couldn’t. She thanks Hollywood for searching for her and bringing her out of a potentially dark time. Vi seems to be struggling with never being able to give Hollywood children. Between the conversation Darla held with Charley about sleeping on the floor and saying only mother’s would understand. Vi also sees Hollywood and Blue playing around with one another.

Micah confides in Nova about his situation with Isiah. He talks about how intimate he wants to be with him emotionally and once people around them started seeing it, he wanted to step away from the friendship. Nova tells Micah he does not need to worry about defining himself and allow his feelings to lead him. She tells him the story of him will be new each day which is so true.

Ralph plans to form a co-op with the settlement money. He wants to buy up land as a collective. Billie discovers that any land that comes up for sale in St. Joe, the Black farmers get first dibs on purchasing. The idea came for Darla, smart woman! Charley tells Darla they can keep the gifts with her considering they are in the middle of packing up at the farm. Vi offers up her extra room at her place for Darla and Ralph. Charley also offers her house for them considering she will be campaigning and Micah will be back at school. The offers bring Darla to tears.

Darla and Ralph have a moment alone. Darla tells Ralph everything does not need to be figured out yet and she tells him Charley and Vi offered space for them to stay. Darla is leaning toward staying with Vi because she wants love and guidance over the baby. It appears for now there can be some calm for the soon to be parents again.
