Keene is currently the leading scorer in Division 1 at a healthy 30.7ppg, 7 more points than the next leading scorer. The last time someone averaged more in a season was Kevin Bradshaw 1990. Not exactly a flashy name but the leading scorer in NCAA has never been a great measure for NBA success.
Marcus is now a redshirt junior at Central Michigan after transferring from Div II Youngstown Penguins. He sat out the 2015 season, As guard Chris Fowler was entering his final year of eligibility.

“In college, having to sit out is going to be a tough part, but it’s going to make me work on some things, become a better teammate because I can’t help them being on the court,” Keene said. “I can also get better and work on my game, so when it is time.”

Per Game

As per Sports-Reference

In 1.4 minutes extra — that’s 84 seconds — he puts up double the points. Double the Points.
The ludicrous part of this is that he has only become more efficient whilst doing it. Against better competition. He has improved his game all round the board., a classic line would’ve calling it unsustainable. But that’s what people said about Steph Curry’s shooting at Davidson, and look at him now. Now I’m not saying that Keene is on the same level, but we have to at least entertain the possibility that the uncommon isn’t unachievable.

Advanced Stats

As per Sports-Reference

With an astronomical usage rate of 36.5%; Good for 3rd in college, would be good for 3rd in the NBA as well behind only Russell Westbrook and DeMar DeRozan — Just ridiculous. The best part about it is he’s more Kobe than Kobe, his go to shot is a step-back 3. He takes almost all of his shots on contested One-on-one situations with almost every time the defender having at least 4 inches on him. Now his offense has not been matched with effort on the defensive end, and that’s what will damage his draft stock the most. It’s not that he’s a bad defender overall, it’s more a combination of thinking about how he’s going to score in the next play and being 5' 9. Any cocky 18/19/20 year old will shoot over him with glee. But we don’t tend to watch basketball for outstanding defensive play, sure it’s great watching a Gary Payton style of player shut some one down but the game will soon become boring. We love fast breaks. And-1 Lay ups. Killer Crossovers. A kid just proving that he’s every bit the basketball player as someone who’s 3 inches taller than him. 6 foot is just a number, but so is 30 points.

Practice Pays off.
